The Millennium Development Goals are a step in the right direction as they have gone a long way to reducing extreme poverty in developing countries.
Microfinance in the digital age, challenges and opportunities
The leading microfinance experts on the continent gathered in Barcelona for the European Microfinance Summit (EMS), where for two days they shared their experience in order to identify the challenges and opportunities in the sector in the new digital age. This is one of the main challenges for the BBVA Microfinance Foundation, which, like the other organizations present, works in developing countries to improve the lives of disadvantaged sectors.
The president of the IDB reiterates its support for the BBVAMF in future projects
The president of the IDB, Luis Alberto Moreno, held a working meeting this morning in the head offices of the BBVA Microfinance Foundation in Madrid, accompanied by senior executives from the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC). At this encounter with the CEO, Javier Flores and the BBVAMF Board of Directors analyzed the joint project of both institutions and laid out the next steps in the collaboration agreement, begun ten years ago.
