The Savings Bank and Credit ADOPEM is created in 2004 in the Dominican Republic. It is an internationally recognized entity and a benchmark in the microfinance sector worldwide, triple consecutive regional winner of the ‘Prize for Excellence in Microfinance in Latin America and the Caribbean’ awarded by the Inter-american Development Bank (IDB).

Banco ADOPEM rewards its top employees
Banco ADOPEM’s “Outstanding Employee Awards Ceremony 2016” took place this month. This event recognized the work of 145 of the bank’s employees and 25 of its collaborators with up to 20 years’ service. It also recognized the performance of eight branches that reached their targets for the year.
ADOPEM Bank loan portfolio grows by more than 15% in 2016
The Savings and Credit Bank ADOPEM, serving vulnerable entrepreneurs in the Dominican Republic, increased its loan portfolio in 2016 by more than 15% over the previous year. At year end, BBVA Microfinance Foundation had 225,858 outstanding loans and a customer base of more than 390,000 people.
Banco ADOPEM, the first private capital bank present throughout the whole country
The BBVA Microfinance Foundation bank in the Dominican Republic is now the first private capital bank present in every province in the country. Thanks to its 74 branch offices and its 135 banking subagents, over 376,000 Dominican citizens now have access to ADOPEM’s banking offer.
Adopem consolidates its presence in rural areas
Adopem has opened a new branch office in Constanza, in the province of La Vega. Its location in the Dominican Republic is an opportunity to extend access to financial services to micro-entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs in the interior of the country. This institution belonging to the BBVA Microfinance Foundation serves over 380,000 people, of whom almost 40% live in remote rural areas.
